Perchlorethylene
Perchloroethylene is an organic chemical compound with the chemical formula Câ‚‚Clâ‚„. It is a colorless, volatile liquid with a mild sweet odor. Perchloroethylene has been widely used as an industrial solvent in the past due to its unique physical and chemical properties.
Due to the stability and non-flammability of carbon tetrachloride, as well as its ability to dissolve a wide range of organic materials, it is commonly used as a cleaning solvent to remove various types of impurities and stains from various surfaces. Some of the applications of PERC are as follows:
Degreasing of metal surfaces and industrial equipment
Removing soot from industrial furnaces
Insulating and cooling fluid in electrical transformers
Degassing of metal parts in the automotive industry
Cleaning of grease and paint stains in the finishing stage of the textile industry
Used in dry cleaning due to its stain-removing properties
