Diisobutyl Ketone
Diisobutyl Ketone, also known as 2,6-Dimethyl-4-heptanone, is a colorless liquid with a mild, sweetish odor. It is widely used as a solvent in various industrial applications due to its excellent solvent activity, low density, and slow evaporation rate2. DIBK is particularly effective for synthetic resins such as nitrocellulose, rosin esters, phenolics, hydrocarbons, alkyds, polyesters, and acrylics. It is also used in commercial printing inks, general industrial coatings, and paints.
