Compression Molding Machine
Compression molding machine is one of the important equipment in the plastic, rubber and composite parts manufacturing industry. This machine uses pressure and heat to mold raw materials into the desired mold shape.
How compression molding machine works
Mold preparation: A metal mold designed in the shape of the final part is coated with a release agent so that the final part can be easily removed from the mold.
Introducing raw materials: Raw materials (plastic, rubber, composite, etc.) in powder, granule or sheet form are placed into the lower half of the mold.
Closing the mold: The upper half of the mold is closed onto the lower half with hydraulic or mechanical pressure.
Applying heat: The mold is heated to soften and pliable the raw materials.
Applying pressure: By applying high pressure, the raw materials flow into the mold cavities and take the shape of the mold.
Cooling and separation: After the curing process is complete, the mold is cooled and the final part is removed from the mold.
Advantages of compression molding
Production of high-volume parts: This method is very suitable for mass production of parts.
High accuracy: The parts produced have very precise dimensions and tolerances.
Variety of usable materials: It is possible to use a variety of plastic, rubber and composite materials.
Low production cost: Due to the simplicity of the process, the cost of producing parts is low.
Long mold life: The molds used in this method have a long life.
Applications of compression molding machine
Automotive industry: Production of interior parts of cars such as dashboards, engine parts, etc.
Electrical industry: Production of insulators, sockets, etc.
Medical industry: Production of prosthetic parts, medical equipment parts, etc.
Aerospace industry: Production of composite parts for aircraft and satellites
Electronic industry: Production of insulating and protective parts
Main components of compression molding machine
Mold: A metal mold designed in the shape of the final part.
Heating system: To provide the heat required to soften the raw materials.
Hydraulic or mechanical system: To apply pressure to the mold.
Temperature and pressure control system: for precise control of the production process.
