Aminoethylethanolamine (AEEA) is a single component product, with minimal ethylenediamine impurity. The product is water-soluble, clear, colorless, and slightly viscous. An ammonia-like odor is typical of the product.

It is also a linear molecule with primary and secondary amine groups. AEEA is a colorless liquid with a slightly higher viscosity than EDA and DETA. It is used as an intermediate in the manufacture of detergents, fabric softeners, chelates, fuel additives, and coatings.
